The Dark Glamour: A 666 Park Avenue Novel is the second in what is hopefully only a series of three books of a secret society of witches who are at war with each other. And by war, I mean people basically glaring at each other, dressing up, gallivanting from one expensive location to the other and occasionally doing something vaguely supernatural and powerful to threaten the other person. I only started this series because I had a goal to read all the books related to the ABC series that I watched and to my horror, discovered that the tv series is better. The first book dealt with a character’s introduction to not only the world of the upper echelon of NYC society, but her identity as a witch, which means that she has powers, but doesn’t know what she can do. The second book is about how she responds to the newly discovered danger that she is in. Hint: she responds to it badly and thoughtlessly. The main character is a selfish idiot who basically unravels her grandmother’s decades long plan to make the world a better place, which is obvious in the early part of the book before it is revealed. As a completist, unfortunately I will still hate read the third book. Do not read this crap.
SPOILER ALERT
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think there is even a supernatural black face moment. It is a pretty awful book.
