Do not watch Hotel Rwanda unless you have something really awesome & happy to follow immediately thereafter because this film will break your heart. The Killing Fields meets Schindler’s List. This masterpiece unflinchingly but tastefully examines the failure of even those who cared to save those they loved from genocide and the struggle of those left behind to survive. At moments, this film reminded me of Good Evening, Mr. Wallenberg with respect to the main character’s efforts to remain sane and uphold civilization in the face of madness and destruction of humanity. Unfortunately, it seems like never again is just a slogan.
