Grey Gardens makes Behind the Candelabra seem like a hack job! Such honest, but loving portraits by the filmmakers and actors. Could be the best biopic that I’ve ever seen. EVAH!!!! Of course, everyone expects Jessica Lange to be magnificent, but Drew Barrymore makes her ancestors proud with this performance! Such a beautifully filmed movie that you begin to forget that it isn’t a documentary. It has everything: a period piece, psychological portrait, gender study, problem of fame, etc. A must see!
