The British are taking all our (acting) jobs, and they are better than us at zombie comedies. Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is an incredibly uneven American zombie comedy. Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse focuses on three adolescent boys. The teens are on the threshold of leaving behind childhood and trying to figure out who they want to be while using the zombie apocalypse as the catalyst for coming of age.
There are a handful of transcendentally hilarious scenes (anything related to music), but nothing worth slogging through 90 minutes. Clearly someone on Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse saw Zombie Strippers and Deadgirl, but not in a good way. Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse relies on adolescent sexual male humor and gross out jokes, which can be great, but isn’t. Shaun of the Dead does not have to worry about Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse taking its crown.
