Highland Park ended up in my queue because Parker Posey is in it. If you want to watch a predictable movie that will make you feel stressed and clenched during the entire viewing as you watch people do predictably stupid things, then watch Highland Park. Highland Park’s creators had good intentions. Highland Park, which is set in Detroit, compares and contrasts how ordinary people are vilified for poor economic decisions versus those people and institutions in the one percent who are bailed out and benefit from government programs. I even think there is a Sarah Palin dig in there somewhere, but an amazing cast and good intentions are not enough reason to watch Highland Park.
