If you enjoyed Lords of Dogtown, then you have to see Dogtown and Z-Boys. The actual skateboarder pioneers, who are now middle-aged men (and one woman) created Dogtown and Z-Boys. Lords of Dogtown was pretty faithful to the real life story, and Dogtown and Z-Boys really breaks down how radical (and anarchic/revolutionary) it was to treat an oppressive architectural medium as an eternal, material expression of nature, i.e. treating acres of cements like waves. Dogtown and Z-Boys features a lot of archived footage of the skaters, and you will be amazed that most of them lived as long as they did. A real treat to enter a world that in real life I would not want to go near.
