Stephen King’s Revival: A Novel vaguely reminded me of Doctor Sleep except with even less supernatural elements until King tags it on at the end to keep his good name. Revival: A Novel is mostly about how time and age erodes what we love and usually our reaction to the daily minor and major tragedies shapes what we do and who we become. I don’t think that King has it in him to write a book with a major villain and is struggling with reaching the end of his life and looking back. Well, at least King is not reacting to the end as gracelessly as Ridley Scott, but still I urge him to dump the supernatural premise and just write an autobiography already. You’re old. You’re going to die. You’re scared. We get it. Welcome to the party-everyone is invited.
