Where to Watch

The Hunger is The Twilight Zone or some such weird short story tv show meets Red Shoe Diaries. Each episode of The Hunger is about 26 minutes & I wouldn’t recommend it because I never liked Red Shoe Diaries–it was a David Duchovny phase inspired by the X-Files (only saw the movie…good soundtack though). If you cut out the dissonant, piercing sounds and quick cuts of the opening credits, the opening & closing monologues of the narrator (Terence Stamp in the 1st season & David Bowie in the 2nd season), and all gratuitous sex scenes (thank you fast forward), this anthology series is too short on story & is largely disappointing with sporadic great episodes. Such a shame because I have read some of the short stories that inspired the series & they were really excellent. Stick with Masters of Horror.
