Where to Watch

How The Wolverine Got Roofied And Eventually Got His Groove Back, but Lost Some Shininess. Maybe it is because I have seen too many movies, but I predicted the entire plot by watching the commercials & had to fight not to fall asleep in the theater. I’m beginning to think that when I see any movie starring Hugh Jackman, I should just wait until it comes out on DVD–you can’t bribe me with his constant shirtlessness! Every decade or so, the film industry dusts off the trope of the white guy going to Japan & is better than ninjas, yakuza, samurai, especially at getting the girl, who is built up as something amazing, but only does something for a few seconds & basically exists to be in distress except for a few moments. One girl confidently kicks butt, but as soon as she returns to Japan, she is a shaky mess with brief moments of fighting ability. Also it felt like they took the best action scenes from Daniel Craig’s Bond series & recreated them. Best part of the movie: the bonus scene after the initial credits. Good news: if they ever reboot Sex & The City, they’ve found their new Samantha. Bad News: Poison Ivy wants her character back.
