Summer Hours is about several things: a metaphor for the future of French culture, a portrait of how time transforms relationships between people & things, how things are imbued by the life around them, equally the tragedy & triumph of each generation as its time passes & ascends. As always, the French win when it comes to any meditations about life. Who is remaking it & WHY?!?
