OSS 117: Lost in Rio

Action, Adventure, Comedy

Director: Michel Hazanavicius

Release Date: April 15, 2009

Where to Watch

I thought this sequel was not as funny as its predecessor because OSS 117: Lost in Rio relied on mostly physical humor, branched out to Hitchcock references, & utilized multiple split screen shots to increase the humor, but it still cleverly uses old spy movie devices to confront France’s social and political ills. This time, it grapples with France’s historical sin of collaborating with the Nazis and anti-Semitic sentiments.
