Documentary

Release Date: January 1, 1996

Where to Watch

My Knees Were Jumping: Remembering the Kindertransports is as much about the children of those who were in the kindertransports as their parents. Really emphasizes how unnatural the whole thing was: Nazis’ desire to kill children, how most countries were unwilling to try & save children, how children had to be separated from parents, how children were suddenly immersed in a different culture, not hugged or kissed! But still saved! Survivors’ guilt initially precludes them from admitting that they are Holocaust survivors. Their children are as deeply affected & try to protect their parents.
