Where to Watch

Heading South is unflinchingly uncomfortable and brilliant. Female sexual liberation taken to its extreme negative as the film reveals a world of sexual tourism tinged with desperation at the women’s lost youth and desirability in the first world, but the seductive quality of financial power in the third world, pedophilia, colonial/racial exploitation and repercussions throughout society, money and privilege trumps gender dynamics until it doesn’t. Really good acting, thoughtful & excellent character study.
